  30. It's still a 4meg one (no-one seems to want to offer me a cheap u/g :-(

  32. I have got for it (after catastropic failure of it's IDE disc, a
  33. replacement harddisc.

  35. I bought it a SCSI one (second hand, but working) it's 1Gb
  36.  
  37. I have a 200Meg IDE in the same machine
  38.  
  39. I also have an Acorn SCSI I card.
  40.  
  41. I have SCSIdm (which is pants, but....)
  42.  
  43. I am now stuck
  44.  
  45. I can format the disc, which I have, once. 0 defects.
  46.  
  47. I then tried to work out how to 'initialise' it. I can either dedicate
  48. (using SCSIDM) about 1/2 the disc to ADFS, and none to RISC ix, OR I can
  49. dediate  some to RISC OS /and RISC ix
  50.  
  51. either way, I'm screwed because !Partman wont create anything on the first
  52. of the two methods, and will only create RISC ix partitions using the
  53. second method. What do I do?

  55. suggestions like 'kick it' arent helpful... dont suggest them anyway,
  56. because there's a substantial chance I may do just that,...
